Oshkohran (Persian: اشكهران)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Gavkhuni-ye Jonubi Rural District of the Central District of Varzaneh County, Isfahan province, Iran.[4]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 1,339 in 309 households, when it was in Gavkhuni Rural District[b] of the former Bon Rud District of Isfahan County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,409 people in 359 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,463 people in 417 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]

In 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Varzaneh County. The rural district was transferred to the new Central District and renamed Gavkhuni-ye Shomali Rural District. Oshkohran was transferred to Gavkhuni-ye Jonubi Rural District created in the district.[4]
