KeepSolid
KeepSolid Inc. is a Ukrainian‑founded technology company that develops cybersecurity and productivity softwares.[1][2] It was established in 2013 by Vasyl Ivanov and Oleg Bocharnikov in Odesa, Ukraine, and later incorporated in the United States with headquarters in New York City.[3] KeepSolid is the creator of VPN Unlimited, a virtual private network (VPN) service launched in 2013. HistoryKeepSolid was founded in August 2013 as Simplex Solutions by Vasyl Ivanov and Oleg Bocharnikov in Odesa.[4] Vasyl, who had earlier developed mobile productivity apps, started the new company to create his own software products.[4] The first release was an iPhone utility called Photo Transfer WiFi, enabling wireless photo sharing before widespread cloud storage.[4] Later, in 2013, the founders shifted focus to online privacy tools and began developing a VPN service. In October 2013, they launched VPN Unlimited as a mobile app with two initial server locations (Los Angeles and Amsterdam).[3] Unlike most VPNs of the period, which charged users by bandwidth or speed limits, VPN Unlimited introduced a flat‑rate “unlimited” subscription.[4] Within a year of launch, the service had over one million users.[4] In 2015, the company was renamed as KeepSolid.[4] KeepSolid also relocated its headquarters to New York while maintaining research and development operations in Ukraine.[3] During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, KeepSolid was among the VPN providers that took steps to assist Ukraine’s cyber‑defence. Its services began filtering Russian state‑media websites, and the firm pledged up to 30 percent of its revenue to support the Ukrainian army.[5] It also offered free annual subscriptions of VPN Unlimited to Ukrainian citizens.[5] OperationsKeepSolid operates as a private company with offices in both New York and Ukraine. Its Ukrainian branch remains in Odesa.[3] Previously, KeepSolid operated an internal IT‑training program in Ukraine to recruit local students and graduates.[3] Products
