At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of Jarqavieh Sofla District[b] of Isfahan County) was 6,204 in 1,712 households.[6] There were 6,452 inhabitants in 2,015 households at the following census of 2011.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 6,477 in 2,181 households. The most populous of its 25 villages was Peykan, with 2,760 people.[2]
In 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Jarqavieh County.[4]
