Ch'p's early history is recounted in Green Lantern Corps #203. A native of the planet H'lven, he helps defend it from Doctor Ub'x and his army. He is captured and sentenced to death, but the Guardians of the Universe rescue him and recruit him into the Green Lantern Corps.[3]
In Crisis on Infinite Earths, the multiverse is destroyed, and Ch'p and Ub'x are among the few who remember the previous timeline.[4] They eventually reconcile and become friends before Ch'p is hit and killed by a yellow tractor-trailer.[5][1] Afterward, B'dg replaces him as the Green Lantern of Sector 1014.
Ch'p appears in the Mad segment "Does Someone Have to GOa?", voiced by Kevin Shinick. As part of a reality show, the Green Lantern Corps fire him before he is run over by a car.
Ch'p appears in the Injustice: Gods Among Us tie-in comic. He joins a group of Green Lanterns in attempting to apprehend Superman, only to be killed by Sinestro.[15]
