Το σοβιετικό ρούβλι ήταν το νόμισμα της Σοβιετικής Ένωσης. Ένα ρούβλι διαιρούταν σε 100 καπίκια. Πολλά από τα σχέδια του ρουβλίου δημιουργήθηκαν από τον Ιβάν Ντομπάσοφ. Η παραγωγή σοβιετικών ρουβλίων ήταν ευθύνη της Ομοσπονδιακής Επιχειρήσεως Ενιαίου Κλάδου, η οποία ήταν υπεύθυνη για την εκτύπωση και την παραγωγή υλικών για τραπεζογραμμάτια και την κοπή νομισμάτων στη Μόσχα και στο Λένινγκραντ (Αγία Πετρούπολη). Εκτός από το κανονικό νόμισμα, χρησιμοποιήθηκαν μερικές άλλες μονάδες νομίσματος, όπως διάφορες μορφές μετατρέψιμου ρουβλίου. Το 1991, μετά τη διάλυση της Σοβιετικής Ένωσης, το σοβιετικό ρούβλι συνέχισε να χρησιμοποιείται στα μετασοβιετικά κράτη, σχηματίζοντας μια "ζώνη ρουβλίου", μέχρι να αντικατασταθεί από το ρωσικό ρούβλι το 1993 και τα λοιπά εθνικά νομίσματα των πρώην κρατών της ΕΣΣΔ.
