Under Salt Marsh ist eine britische Krimi-Miniserie von Claire Oakley mit Kelly Reilly und Rafe Spall in den Hauptrollen. Die Handlung spielt im fiktiven Dorf Morfa Halen in Nordwales. Die Serie wurde am 30. Januar 2026 auf Sky Atlantic (UK) ausgestrahlt.
Handlung
Während sich draußen auf See ein gewaltiger Sturm zusammenbraut, findet die Lehrerin und ehemalige Polizistin Jackie Ellis (Kelly Reilly) die Leiche ihres achtjährigen Schülers Cefin Hill, der offenbar ertrunken ist. Dieser schockierende Fund weckt in der Stadt Erinnerungen an einen ungelösten Fall von vor drei Jahren – das Verschwinden von Jackies Nichte Nessa, das ihre Karriere zerstörte.
Cefins Tod führt Jackies alten Partner, Detective Eric Bull (Rafe Spall), zurück, um die Ermittlungen in einer Gemeinde zu leiten, in der er zuvor gescheitert war. Jackie und Bull glauben, dass die beiden Fälle zusammenhängen, und müssen zusammenarbeiten, um verborgene Geheimnisse in Morfa Halen aufzudecken, bevor der Sturm alle Spuren vernichtet.[1]

Produktion
Die sechsteilige Serie stammt aus der Feder von Claire Oakley, die gemeinsam mit Mary Nighy auch Regie führt. Scott Bassett fungiert als Produzent, während Oakley zusammen mit Elwen Rowlands für Little Door Productions und Megan Spanjian für Sky Studios als Executive Producerin tätig ist. Kelly Reilly wurde im August 2024 für die Hauptrolle besetzt.[2] Im Oktober 2024 wurde die vollständige Besetzung der Serie bekanntgegeben: Rafe Spall, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Yang und Harry Lawtey spielen die Hauptrollen, während zum Nebencast Dinita Gohil, Brian Gleeson, Kimberley Nixon, Mark Stanley, Dino Fetscher, Lizzie Annis, Rhodri Meilir und Julian Lewis Jones gehören.[3]
Die Dreharbeiten begannen im Oktober 2024, die Produktion fand vollständig in Wales statt. Zu den Drehorten gehörten Barmouth, Fairbourne, Anglesey und Südwales.[4] Das Projekt wird von Creative Wales unterstützt.[5]
Ausstrahlung
Die sechsteilige Serie feierte am 30. Januar 2026 auf Sky Atlantic (UK) Premiere.
