Philippodexia ist eine Zweiflüglergattung aus der Familie der Raupenfliegen (Tachinidae). Das Taxon wurde 1926 von dem US-amerikanischen Entomologen Charles Henry Tyler Townsend eingeführt.[1][2] Typusart ist Philippodexia longipes Townsend, 1926.[2] Der Gattungsname setzt sich aus den Wortteilen Philippo (bezugnehmend auf die Typlokalität Philippinen) und der Gattung Dexia zusammen. Die Gattung Philippodexia gehört zur Tribus Dexiini innerhalb der Unterfamilie Dexiinae.

Merkmale

Es handelt sich um etwa 12 mm lange Fliegen. Townsend (1926) lieferte eine Beschreibung der Gattung und der Typusart.[1]

Verbreitung

Das Vorkommen der Gattung Philippodexia ist auf Südostasien beschränkt.[2]

Lebensweise

Die Vertreter der Gattung Philippodexia sind Endoparasitoide. Wirte sind offenbar noch nicht bekannt.
