Parapanope ist eine Gattung der Krabben (Brachyura) mit sieben Arten.[1] Es ist die Typgattung der Parapanopinae. Die Arten bewohnen den intertidalen Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 35 m im gemäßigten Nordwestpazifik sowie den westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik.[2]
Merkmale
Parapanope ist bis zu 15 mm lang. Der Carapax ist runzelig, die Regionen deutlich erkennbar. Der vordere Seitenrand hat vier breite, dreieckige Zähne oder Lappen, die durch flache Einsenkungen getrennt sind. Der obere Rand der Hand des Scherenbeins ist stumpf abgerundet oder mit flachen Höckern besetzt, die äußere Oberfläche mit zwei oder drei granulierten Leisten oder glatt. Die oberen, proximalen (körpernahen) Ränder der Finger sind glatt und ohne Höcker.[2]
