Nimioglossa ist eine Zweiflüglergattung aus der Familie der Raupenfliegen (Tachinidae). Das Taxon wurde 1945 von dem US-amerikanischen Entomologen Henry Jonathan Reinhard eingeführt.[1] Typusart ist Nimioglossa ravida Reinhard, 1945.[1] Die Gattung Nimioglossa gehört zur Tribus Dexiini innerhalb der Unterfamilie Dexiinae.

Merkmale

Von den anderen Dexiini-Gattungen unterscheidet sich Nimioglossa durch den langen, schlanken Rüssel sowie einer Flügeladerung, bei der die Ader M ein gutes Stück vom Flügelrand entfernt auf die Ader R4+5 trifft.[2]

Verbreitung

Die Gattung Nimioglossa kommt in Mexiko, in den westlichen Vereinigten Staaten und im Südwesten von Kanada vor.[1][3]

Lebensweise

Die Vertreter der Gattung Nimioglossa sind Endoparasitoide. Wirte sind offenbar noch nicht bekannt.
