Microchaetina ist eine Zweiflüglergattung aus der Familie der Raupenfliegen (Tachinidae). Das Taxon wurde von dem niederländischen Entomologen Frederik Maurits van der Wulp 1891 eingeführt.[1][2] Typusart ist Microchaetina cinerea van der Wulp, 1891.[2] Die Gattung Microchaetina gehört zur Tribus Dexiini innerhalb der Unterfamilie Dexiinae.
Merkmale
Es handelt sich um etwa 9–11 mm lange beborstete Fliegen.
Verbreitung
8 Arten der Gattung Microchaetina kommen in Nordamerika (einschließlich Mexiko) vor.[2] Eine Art kommt in Peru vor.[2]
Lebensweise
Die Vertreter der Gattung Microchaetina sind Endoparasitoide. Wirte sind offenbar noch nicht bekannt.
