Medaeus ist eine Gattung der Rundkrabben mit sechs rezenten Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die tiefe Gezeitenzone, den Schelf und den Kontinentalhang in Tiefen zwischen 15 und 367 m im zentralen und östlichen Indopazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 25 mm lang und deutlich breiter als lang. Die Region 4M ist deutlich, die Regionen 2R und 3R sind durch eine Rinne getrennt und die Region P1 trägt einen Querkamm. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit drei Lappen bewehrt. Das Telson reicht bei Männchen über die Mitte des vierten Sterniten hinaus.[2]
