Garthasia ist eine Gattung der Rundkrabben mit zwei rezenten Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 2 und 73 m im zentralen Indopazifik und im tropischen Ostpazifik.[2]
Merkmale
Der Carapax ist bis zu 11 mm lang, oval und bis zu 1,3-mal so breit wie lang. Der vordere Seitenrand ist glatt und kürzer als der hintere. Der dritte Maxilliped ist rechteckig und dabei etwa 2,4-mal so lang wie breit, der Carpus ist, im Gegensatz zu den anderen beiden Gattungen der Unterfamilie, nicht geschwollen. Die Finger der Scherenbeine sind spitz. Das letzte Schreitbein ist verlängert, sein Merus ist 1,8- bis 2,7-mal so lang wie breit.[2]
