Forestiana ist eine Gattung der Rundkrabben mit fünf rezenten Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 0 und mindestens 200 m im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 33 mm lang und dabei 1,3-mal so lang wie breit. Carapax und Pereiopoden sind mit gleichmäßig verteilten Körnen bedeckt, die von steifen, braunen oder schwarzen Borsten umgeben sind. Die Regionen stehen nur schwach hervor und sind durch breite, flache Rinnen abgegrenzt. Der vordere Seitenrand weist deutliche, stumpf abgerundete bis winklige oder zahnartige Abschnitte auf. Der vierte thorakale Sternit zeigt im hinteren Teil eine mittige Furche gegenüber dem Telson, die bei eingefaltetem Pleon vollständig sichtbar bleibt. Die Schreitbeine sind kräftig. Der Merus des letzten Schreitbeins ist 2- bis 2,5-mal so lang wie breit.[2]
