Euxanthus ist eine Gattung der Rundkrabben mit sechs rezenten Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 80 m im Indopazifik und in der gemäßigten Klimazone Südwestaustraliens.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 38 mm lang und breiter als lang. Die Regionen sind deutlich. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit markanten Zähnen bewehrt. Die Schreitbeine sind üblicherweise in eine Aushöhlung am hinteren Seitenrand eingefaltet.[2]

Zur Gattung gehören folgende Arten:[1]

Synonyme sind Euryetisus Cano, 1889, Euxanthopsis Rathbun, 1897, Melissa Strahl, 1861 und Xantho (Euxanthus) Dana, 1851.[1]
