Dromidiopsis ist eine Gattung ursprünglicher Krabben (Brachyura) innerhalb der Familie der Schwammkrabben (Dromiidae) mit sechs Arten.[1] Sie bewohnen Gezeitenzone und Schelf in Tiefen bis 62 m im zentralen Indopazifik und gemäßigten Australasien.[2]

Merkmale

Dromidiopsis wird bis zu 33 mm lang. Der Carapax ist etwa so lang wie breit oder länger als breit, stark konvex und glatt. Der Mittellappen des Rostrums ist von oben nicht sichtbar, die Seitenlappen sind niedrig, schmal und stumpf. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit Zähnen bewaffnet oder glatt. Die Somiten 5 und 6 des Pleons sind verschmolzen, die ehemalige Naht bleibt aber manchmal sichtbar. Der Finger des letzten Schreitbeins hat am Außenrand einen Dorn. Die Uropoden sind als rückenseitige Platte sichtbar, die bei Weibchen quer-, bei Männchen längsorientiert ist. Die Scherenbeine haben einen Epipodit.[2]
