Daetaleus ist eine Zweiflüglergattung aus der Familie der Raupenfliegen (Tachinidae). Das Taxon wurde von dem US-amerikanischen Entomologen John Merton Aldrich 1928 eingeführt.[1] Typusart ist Daetaleus purpureus Aldrich, 1928.[1] Die Gattung Daetaleus gehört zur Tribus Dexiini innerhalb der Unterfamilie Dexiinae.
Merkmale
Es handelt sich um etwa 7–12 mm lange beborstete Fliegen.
Verbreitung
Die Gattung Daetaleus kommt in der Neotropis vor mit Funden aus Brasilien und Panama.[1]
Lebensweise
Die Vertreter der Gattung Daetaleus sind Endoparasitoide. Wirte sind offenbar noch nicht bekannt.

Die Gattung Daetaleus umfasst 2 Arten (O’Hara et al. (2020)):[1]
- Daetaleus azurea (Curran, 1934) – Panama
- Daetaleus purpureus Aldrich, 1928 – Brasilien
