Azaphilone

Azaphilone sind farbintensive organische Verbindungen mit dem Strukturelement eines oxidierten Isochromens.[1] Diese Struktur wird auch Pyranochinonring genannt und fungiert als Chromophor (Farbstoffträger). Beispiele für Azaphilon-Pigmente sind Azanigeron A–F, Epicocconon, Heteroglobin A, Koherin G–K, Lunatoinsäure A,[S 1] Monascin, Sclerothiorin und weitere.
Etymologie
Das Wort leitet sich von „aza“ (Stickstoff), „philein“ (lieben) ab, da bei den Azaphilonen durch die Umsetzung mit Aminen der Sauerstoff im γ-Pyran-Ring leicht durch Stickstoff unter Bildung eines vinylogen γ‐Pyridons ersetzt werden kann.[2]
