Austrodromidia ist eine Gattung ursprünglicher Krabben (Brachyura) innerhalb der Familie der Schwammkrabben (Dromiidae) mit fünf Arten.[1] Die Vertreter kommen im gemäßigten Australasien vor und besiedeln den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 218 m.[2]

Merkmale

Austrodromidia wird bis zu 35 mm lang. Der Carapax ist etwa so breit wie lang oder breiter als lang. Der mittige Lappen des Rostrums ist kürzer als die beiden dreieckigen seitlichen. Der vordere Seitenrand ist glatt oder mit vier bis fünf Zähnen bewaffnet. Das Telson ist rundlich oder sich in ein abgerundetes Ende verjüngend. Die Uropoden sind rudimentär auf der Bauchseite oder als Bauchplatte erkennbar. Die Scherenbeine haben keinen Epipoditen.[2]
