Amazonomyces palmae (Syn. Eremothecella calamicola[1]) ist ein flechtenbildender Ascomycet der Familie Arthoniaceae.

Amazonomyces palmae kommt in der Amazonasregion[1] vor.

Merkmale

Makroskopische Merkmale

Die Flechten des Pilzes wachsen ausschließlich auf Blättern. In der Regel sind diese flach ausgebreitet.[1.1]

Mikroskopische Merkmale

Die Ascokarpe ist blassgelblich, ohne dunkle Pigmentierung und niemals bereift, seitlich von holzigem Thallusgewebe bedeckt. Die Ascosporen sind spindelförmig, mikrozephal. Die Pyknidien sind blassgelblich, mit Rand von holzigem Thallusgewebe bedeckt.

Ascosporen sind groß (30–90 × 7–15 µm), 5–11-septiert oder muriform mit einer sehr großen Zelle in der Mitte. Pyknidien sind ellipsoidovoid, bisymmetrisch, die konidientragende Schicht ist asymmetrisch und nur einseitig entwickelt. Die Konidien sind lang (70–150 µm), fadenförmig und mehrfach septiert.[1.1]
