Barry Manilow (17 de xunu de 1943, Brooklyn) ye un cantante d'Estaos Xuníos, descendiente de rusos ya irlandeses. Los sos padres, Harold y Edna Pincus (quien finaron en 1993 y en 1994, respeutivamente) rexistrar col nome Barry Alan Pincus, pero más palantre, pocu dempués del so Bar Mitzvah, la so madre, quien se divorciara del so padre y volviera casar se, camudó llegalmente el so propiu apellíu y el del so fíu, utilizando dende entós pa dambos el so apellíu de soltera: Manilow. Barry ye conocíu por ésitos como I Write The Songs, Mandy y Copacabana (At The Copa). En 1990, la revista Rolling Stone proclamó-y "representante de la nuesa xeneración". Vendió más de 75 millones de copies en tol mundu.

Trabayó pa delles discográfiques: Bell, Aresta, RCA y Concord, y tamién pa les campañes publicitaries de munches otres, ente elles: Band-Aid, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pepsi y McDonald's.

A los 21 años casóse cola so novia de la mocedá, Susan Deixler. Sicasí, por cuenta de los sos compromisos artísticos, el matrimoniu vio'l so fin dos años dempués.

Estudió música na Academia de Juilliard de Nueva York. En 1972 conoció a l'actriz y cantante Bette Midler, quien lo ayudar a impulsase como cantante. En 1973 foi contratáu por Midler como pianista pa les sos xires, y yá antes collaborara como arreglista nos discos de Midler. Ella convirtióse nel so representante, depués de que se dio cuenta non yá del so talentu sinón del interés del públicu por él mientres les sos xires. Por cuenta de esti gran cambéu, Manilow empezó a conocer a artistes, axentes y productores por cuenta de los contactos de Bette.

Recibió diversos premios como cantante y compositor, y tamién donó grandes sumes de dineru p'asociaciones y organizaciones de derechos humanos que trabayen contra'l sida y otres enfermedaes, y tamién a favor de les campañes polítiques de Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Ron Paul y Joe Biden.

El so autobiografía, publicada en 1986 por McGraw-Hill, titular n'inglés Sweet Life: Adventures on the Way to Paradise (Duce vida: Aventures aldu al paraísu) (ISBN 0070399042).

Anguaño dirixe un espectáculu en Las Vegas. El 5 d'abril de 2017 declaróse abiertamente homosexual nuna entrevista a la revista People.[3]

N'abril de 2017, Manilow salió del armariu reconociéndose públicamente como gai pa una entrevista dada a la revista People, aseverando amás que ta casáu dende 2014 con Garry Kief, con quien caltién una rellación sentimental dende va décades y ye la so representante artísticu.
