AK Pictoris (AK Pic / GJ 3400)[1] ye un sistema estelar na constelación de Pictor de magnitú aparente +6,18. Alcuéntrase a 69 años lluz del Sistema Solar y ye miembru de la nueva Asociación estelar d'AB Doradus.[2]

La componente principal del sistema, GJ 3400 A, ye una nana mariella de tipu espectral G2V con una temperatura superficial de 5740 - 5768 K.[3][4] Relluma con una lluminosidá cimera nun 45% a la lluminosidá solar.[3] El so radiu ye un 30% más grande que'l radiu solar y xira sobre sigo mesma con una velocidá de rotación de 17,6 km/s. El so periodu de rotación ye de 2,60 díes,[2] equivalente a 1/10 del que tien el Sol. Tien una masa igual a la masa solar y ye una estrella bien nueva; una fonte otorgar una edá de 26 millones d'años[5] —1/180 parte de la edá del nuesu Sol—, ente qu'otra, tomando como referencia la so pertenencia a l'Asociación estelar AB Doradus, alza esta cifra hasta los 75 millones d'años.[3] Presenta una metalicidá inferior a la solar nun 40%[6] pero la so bayura de litiu ye notablemente cimeru a la solar (logє[Li] = 3,16).[7] Detectóse escesu na emisión infrarroxa a 24 μm procedente de la estrella, lo que suxer la presencia d'un discu circumestelar de polvu.[3]

La componente secundaria del sistema, GJ 3400 B, ta separada visualmente de la primaria 0,30 segundos d'arcu. Ye una nana naranxa de tipu inciertu ente K3 y K7 que orbita a 6,4 UA de la so compañera.[8][6]

Amás, la estrella primaria pue ser, de la mesma, una binaria espectroscópica.[6] Ye brillosu na rexón de rayos X, tando incluyida ente los cien estrelles más brilloses en dicha rexón del espectru distantes menos de 50 pársecs del Sistema Solar.[9] Catalogada como variable de tipu BY Draconis, el so rellumu fluctúa 0,05 magnitúes nun periodu igual al so periodu de rotación.[10]
