Václavovice is located about 7 kilometres (4 mi) southeast of Ostrava, in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. It is urbanistically fused with the town of Vratimov. It lies in the Ostrava Basin lowland.
History
Václavovice was founded during the colonization of Cieszyn Silesia in the late the 13th century. The first written mention is from 1302 under its Latin name Wenceslaowitz.[2]
