You haven't convinced me that the article should be kept around, but I've been wrong before. The AfD discussion should attract multiple opinions, and the admins can make a call from there. I made no changes other than the (re)addition of the speedy tag (*and* the hangon tag, which I thought was only playing fair)--the reason should be self-evident: I didn't believe the subject was notable. It's not generally considered necessary to explain oneself on the article's talk page when applying a speedy tag, and I'm pretty scrupulous about notifying the original author. --Finngalltalk23:43, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2007-04-03T23:43:00.000Z","author":"Finngall","type":"comment","level":3,"id":"c-Finngall-2007-04-03T23:43:00.000Z-Michael_riber_jorgensen-2007-04-03T23:35:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->

I can see that you've also seen the mess about Hardeknud (the chap that died in 934) vs. "Canute I". It seems to be both here and on the Danish Wikipedia (da:Knud 1. / Gyrd and Gnupa and da:Knud 1. Hardeknud / Harthacnut of Denmark). I don't know enough about this period but could you patch up a short stub article about what we actually know about this person and delete everything that isn't backed up by Dansk Udenrigspolitiks Historie vol 1, SDE or something similar? And possibly also do something about de:Knut I. (Dänemark), including the interwikis? As I see it, "Knud 1." and "Canute I" should refer to the person that died in 934, in order to make the list fit with Canute the Great as "Canute II" and Canute the Saint as "Canute IV". The goal of this drive is to eliminate the backlog of unassessed articles. The drive is running from June 1, 2007 – September 1, 2007.
Awards to be won range from delicacies such as the WikiCookie to the great Golden Wiki Award.
There are over 110,000 articles to assess so please visit the drive's page and help out!

The Podcasting wikiproject had a brief initial surge, but has since died away. I admit my part in this, I've been very busy as of late and have had little time to do any sort of editing. However the project has had almost no progress over the last few months. Our first task is to outline notability requirements. I have placed what was 'discussed' on the talk page on the main page, but there is certainly room for more input. Once the requirements are outlined we will need to start removing non-notable podcasts from Wikipedia. You all joined this project for a reason, now let's get the ball rolling.Ganfon15:39, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2007-06-02T15:39:00.000Z","author":"Ganfon","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Ganfon-2007-06-02T15:39:00.000Z-Let's_Get_Rolling","replies":[],"displayName":"Gan"}}-->
The three-month long Summer Assessment Drive, organized by Psychless, was a huge success! It ran from June 1 – September 1, and reduced the backlog of unassessed articles from 113,385 to 56,237. In all, over 100,000 articles were assessed. Over 60 people contributed in some way.
A barnstar has been created for exceptional work on Wikipedia biographies and for assisting the project. The Biography Barnstar is listed with the other WikiProject awards and can be awarded easily with a template. See the template page for more details.
The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below)
We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future.
This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page

Hi Michael riber jorgensen, I noticed you were on the list as a member of WikiProject Podcasting! 2008 brings new updates to the project, such as Wikipedia 1.0 article assessment ratings, and new podcast infoboxes editors are working on.
In order to help us know who is working on writing, sourcing, rating articles, and in general helping out the project, I encourage you to check out the WP:PODCAST main page and move your name into the 2008 members list. If you'd like to still be part, but have a more indirect involvement on the project, feel free to leave your name on the former members list. Of course, if you're too busy with other commitments and wish to leave the project, simply remove your name. We'll sure miss you though! :)
The year ahead we would like to focus our energy on not only improving articles, but also provide WP:RS reliable sources to ensure each article meets WP:V verifiability.
All the best and happy podcasting. --Brenotalk10:11, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2008-01-13T10:11:00.000Z","author":"Breno","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Breno-2008-01-13T10:11:00.000Z-WikiProject_Podcasting","replies":[]}}-->

Thanks for the reply (I've moved it here, to keep the discussion together).
Yes, I did open the edit to examine it, and naturally with your good self it was a valid edit. The point of course is that, if the edit had had an ES, I could & would have just ignored the edit & assumed it to be fine. As a fellow vandal-patroller, I'm sure you see the difference.
You said you simply forgot - fine, in which case did you know that to avoid accidentally leaving edit summaries blank, you can select "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" on the Editing tab of your user preferences. Excellent work on the Chess Olympiads. It's been needed for a long time. And it's good that you're including the women, who usually get forgotten about in these wiki chess articles. I wondered across the edits on 2012 European Tour, and like most things to do with Ireland its odd. There is one golf union GUI, so they control golf in the island, but two pro unions, NI and (Republic of Ireland|Ireland, the state). This creates confusion, btw the teams entered by the GUI use the Tricolour, just to add confusion, McIlroy and MacDowell have competed under this flag when playing for Ireland, yet have competed under the NI flag in other tournaments and are represented by this flag. The venue is a NI one and a pro venue so the NI flag should be the one to use, if it isnt I am sure someone will change it (reason might be its a pro-am open). I hope this helped a little. You're right, golf in Ireland is a muddled affair administratively, and golfers usually compete under the two separate flags individually but jointly in team events like the World Cup. The reason I changed the venue of the Irish Open this year to 'Northern Ireland' is that the column in the schedule is called 'Host country', so I think NI must be the most correct - but I guess we agree on that. dllu (talk) 09:45, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2012-04-15T09:45:00.000Z","author":"Michael riber jorgensen","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Michael_riber_jorgensen-2012-04-15T09:45:00.000Z-Murry1975-2012-04-13T10:25:00.000Z","replies":[],"displayName":"dllu"}}-->

We noticed though that when you edited 38th Chess Olympiad, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Wang Hao and Li Chao (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2016-11-07T21:09:00.000Z","author":"MediaWiki message delivery","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-MediaWiki_message_delivery-2016-11-07T21:09:00.000Z-Europe_10,000_Challenge_invite","replies":[]}}-->
