For more great coincidence: thank you today for Dear Future Husband, introduced: "'Dear Future Husband', which is Trainor's list of things a potential suitor needs to do if he wants to "get some... kisses". Its accompanying music video attracted the wrath of cancel culture for depicting her as a domestic housewife, and the song itself received mixed reviews with criticism directed towards its backward portrayal of gender roles. hello, MaranoFan! i had a question regarding this article and the associated blurb. the blurb and article lead both mention that the music video "depicts Trainor ... scrubbing floors". would it be more appropriate to state "scrubbing the floor" instead? admittedly, this might be considered original research, but when i watched the music video, i think i only saw trainor scrubbing one floor, the checkered one (presumably of the kitchen). the two mtv sources cited with respect to the scrubbing mention "floors", but the nme source cited states "scrubbing a kitchen floor". (also, considering how the description of the music video was worded in the article body, i have no issue with the use of the word "floors" there.)

thanks, MaranoFan. i have replaced "floors" with "the floor" in the blurb here.^[a] also, i apologize in advance for the length of the rest of this comment.

i was previously unaware of Lips Are Movin's statement, so i appreciate you pointing it out to me. normally, i would agree that a distinctive background that has been associated with the song's performance would be convincing evidence that the picture shows the singer performing the song in question.^[b] however, the picture featured in the "dear future husband" blurb appears to contain no such distinctive background, or anything similar that could easily identify the song being sung.^[c]

in any case, i ended up performing a bunch of original research to try to either convince myself that she was likely performing "dear future husband" in the photo, or convince myself that she was likely not, and happily, i was successful in completing the former. i thought i might write up my findings here in case a future editor has the same question, so that you can reference this comment like you referenced Lips Are Movin's comment for me.

i am pretty convinced that the picture was taken at around 2:17 into this video, which was recorded in philadelphia during the jingle ball 2014 tour, at the same concert during which the photo was taken. at around that time in the video, trainor is not near the other two performers, her stance appears similar to the one she has in the photo,^[d] she is stage right far enough that a photo would likely not capture the large screens on the stage,^[e] the purple lights are dominant (as opposed to the blue or white ones), and the wheels and wires visible at the bottom right of the photo can also be seen in the video.

however, i am now questioning whether the song being performed in this picture is correctly identified by the caption in this article.^[f] the two pictures appear to have been taken from the same flickr photostream. assuming that they were taken by the same camera, the metadata has not been tampered with,^[g] and the camera's clock was not reset during the performance, the first picture appears to have been taken about two minutes after the second, as the first has a timestamp of 21:04:54 and the second 21:02:27. incidentally, there happens to be a clock atop the stage left speakers that is visible in the "dear future husband" video, and around 2:46 into the video, the clock clearly reads "9:04". this video, showing trainor's performance of "close your eyes" in the same concert, appears to show the same clock reading "9:06" about 0:44 into the video, suggesting that "close your eyes" was the song performed after "dear future husband", and therefore would not have been the song trainor was performing in the second picture.^[h]

if i am correct about the first picture being taken about 2:17 into the "dear future husband" video, then, according to the timestamps of the two photos, it appears that the second photo was taken about 10 seconds before recording for this video commenced. since the video begins with trainor singing the lyrics "break, and don't forget the flowers every anniversary", the video clearly starts after the song's performance had already started. i was unable to find another video for this specific performance, but did find one video of a similar performance in chicago about a week later with roughly the same stage setup. in this video, trainor sings the lyrics "break, and don't forget the flowers every anniversary" around 0:15 into the video, and 10 seconds before, at 0:05 into the video, she is singing the lyrics "all my life" from the beginning of the song. at this point, trainor is again not near the other two performers, her stance appears similar to the one she has in the second photo,^[i] she is in the center of the stage so a photographer near stage right^[j] would likely capture much of stage left in the background,^[k] and the blue lights are dominant.

this is obviously not an airtight analysis, but if you agree with the conclusion, then the caption in the extended play article is currently not accurate. luckily, though, since the extended play contains both "close your eyes" and "dear future husband", simply replacing the first title with the second should be sufficient to address this concern.^[l] alternatively, if you want to use a photo from the performance of a different song, there are a number of other photos in this commons category that are from the same photostream, so it should not be too difficult to determine what songs were being performed by looking at the timestamps and reviewing the previously linked videos.

Hello again. I hope you are enjoying your wikibreak. I have noticed that you have shifted your focus to Adele songs lately and I was curious if you have any specific songs in mind for the FAC? I'm guessing one of these would be "Water Under the Bridge"? Apologies for the super random question. I was just curious lol. I really should listen to 30 again. Hey Aoba, how's it going! Yeah, I'd love to keep writing about miss Trainor but she doesn't have a lot of hits left, lol. When I saw the Adele wikiproject I had started had been marked as inactive, I figured I should shift my focus there. I think the "Water Under the Bridge" article is heading in the right direction but I'd like to redo the critical reception section before an FAC because it's not sorted by thematic elements currently. That makes sense. I also think it is sometimes just refreshing to change your focus, and Adele has plenty of hits for you to focus on with an eye toward the FAC process. The reception sections are always the toughest ones to write because it is all about presenting the information in an engaging way while also still providing the reader with a clear understanding of how an item was received and that's a lot to balance and do well. Thank you for the congratulations. I am planning on taking at least a small break from song articles for a while. I am trying to be better with my patience on here and it means a lot that you pointed that out. As I've gotten older, I recognize that we all have our own individual responsibilities and things going on in our lives so I am trying to be more respectful of that. I believe my FAC is a really good example of how a well-attended peer review can have such a great impact on the FAC process. It's always a pleasant surprise to see unlikely topics become FAs. I might try to bring "Marvin Gaye" to FAC one day, which would be a fun challenge given that it is a universally panned song, lol. I always have fun elevating more obscure topics to FA status. I think it emphasizes a particularly unique aspect of Wikipedia in that readers can get information about a topic that is not as easy to research or find in general. I still enjoy working on song articles, but it is important to take a step back to try new things. Sometimes things can be quite repetitive, especially as song articles share similar structures, etc. What kind of articles would you like to work on next? I'd love to return to fictional characters. That was one of my main focuses when I first joined Wikipedia and it has been a significant span of time since I have done anything with that. I'd also love to do fashion and literature articles. For me, at least, my primary goal is to work on at least one or two new projects as I've been primarily looking back on my old GAs and sometimes that gives me a weird sense of anxiety lol. I think something like a movie, tour, or biography would be a natural transition from the topics I currently work on. Although it's a bit hard to find ample information to write comprehensive tour articles. I think your catalogue is quite diverse already, with several TV-related articles. The fourth round of the WikiCup has now finished. 383 points were required to reach the final, and the new round has got off to a flying start with all finalists already scoring. In round 4, Bloom6132 with 939 points was the highest points-scorer, with a combination of DYKs and In the news items, followed by BennyOnTheLoose, Sammi Brie and Lee Vilenski. The points of all contestants are swept away as we start afresh for the final round.

At this stage, we say goodbye to the eight competitors who didn't quite make it; thank you for the useful contributions you have made to the Cup and Wikipedia, and we hope you will join us again next year. For the remaining competitors, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5.
