Freeridge is an American teencomedy-drama television series created by Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez, Jeremy Haft, Jamie Dooner, and Jamie Uyeshiro that premiered on Netflix on February 2, 2023. It is a spin-off of On My Block.[1][2] In April 2023, the series was canceled after one season.[3]

On September 27, 2021, a spin-off of On My Block, titled as Freeridge was ordered to series by Netflix. It is created and executive produced by Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez, Jeremy Haft, Jamie Dooner, and Jamie Uyeshiro.[1] On October 8, 2021, Bryana Salaz, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Ciara Riley Wilson, and Shiv Pai were cast to star.[4] On November 4, 2022, Tenzing Norgay Trainor and Peggy Blow joined the cast in undisclosed capacities.[5] The series was filmed from May 9 to July 5, 2022, in Los Angeles.[6] On December 16, 2022, it was reported that Michael Solomon was cast to star and Trainor is part of the starring cast. The series was released on February 2, 2023.[2] On April 12, 2023, it was reported that the series was canceled after one season.[3]

The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported an 80% approval rating with an average rating of 6.8/10, based on 10 critic reviews.[7]Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned a score of 77 out of 100 based on 4 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews".[8]
