Chico Anysio (born Francisco Anysio de Oliveira Paula Filho, 12 April 1931 – 23 March 2012) was a Brazilian actor, comedian, writer and composer.
Biography
Anysio was born in Maranguape, Ceará. He moved with the family to Rio de Janeiro when he was 7 years old, and tried to work on Rádio Guanabara. Since 1968 was joined to Rede Globo, which achieved the status of a star cast that boasted the most famous artists of Brazil.
Anysio was one of the most famous Brazilian comedians of all times and is considered the greatest Brazilian comedian ever. He died on 23 March 2012, aged 80, in Samaritano Hospital, Rio de Janeiro, from multiple organ failure.[1]
Private life
He was the brother of actress Lupe Gigliotti, of director Zelito Viana and composer and Radio-producer Elano de Paula[2] and father of actors Lug de Paula, Nizo Neto and DJ Cícero Chaves, born from marriage with Regina Chaves.[3] His last wife was the manager Malga Di Paula.[4] Regarding religion Anysio was a vocal atheist.[5]
