The original soundtrack to the 1954 film A Star Is Born was released by Columbia Records in late 1954 in four formats: as a set of five 10-inch 78-rpm shellac records, a set of three EPs, as a 10-inch 33-rpm long-play, and as a 12-inch long-play.[3] The latter was Columbia's first "de luxe" LP priced at 6.95 dollars.[4] The soundtrack featured songs performed by Judy Garland.

The album reached the top 10 of Billboard's both "Best Selling Popular Albums" and "EPs" charts.[5]
