كان مارك رويدن وينشل (24 يوليو 1948 - 8 مايو 2008) كاتب سير ذاتية وكاتب مقالات ومؤرخ وناقد أدبيا. كان أستاذ الأدب والحضارة الأوروبية في جامعة كليمسون في ساوث كارولينا حيث كان يدرس منذ عام 1985.[1] ولد في ولاية أوهايو وحصل على درجة البكالوريوس من جامعة وست فيرجينيا وحصل على الدكتوراة من جامعة فاندربيلت وتم وصفة من قبل جو سكوتشي بأنه «تقليدي في الأدب ومحافظ يميني قديم في السياسة».[2] وسبب وفاته كان مرض السرطان أنجب من زوجتة (دونا هايستي وينشل) ولدان.[3]
