In 2008 is die eksoplaneet WASP-12b in ’n wentelbaan om die ster ontdek met behulp van die oorgangsmetode.[4] Die planeet se groot verhouding tussen koolstof en suurstof dui daarop dat rotsplanete moontlik in die stelsel gevorm het; dit kan ’n koolstofplaneet wees (wat meer koolstof as suurstof bevat).[5]
