The Asia Foundation adalah organisasi pembangunan internasional nirlaba yang berkomitmen untuk "meningkatkan kehidupan di Asia yang dinamis dan berkembang."^[2] The Asia Foundation (TAF) didirikan pada tahun 1954 untuk melakukan kegiatan budaya dan pendidikan atas nama Pemerintah Amerika Serikat dengan cara yang tidak terbuka untuk lembaga resmi AS. Berkantor pusat di San Francisco, The Asia Foundation bekerja melalui jaringan 18 kantor di 18 negara Asia dan di Washington, DC.

Pendahulu yayasan, Committee For Free Asia, didirikan pada 1951 sebagai operasi CIA.^[3] Ini kemudian tidak lagi berafiliasi dengan CIA. Namanya diubah menjadi The Asia Foundation pada tahun 1954.^[4]

Pada tanggal 1 Januari 2011, David D. Arnold mengambil alih sebagai presiden Yayasan.^[5]

The Asia Foundation menangani masalah di tingkat negara dan regional melalui jaringan 18 kantor di seluruh dunia.^[6] Bekerja sama dengan mitra lokal di pemerintahan dan masyarakat sipil, staf internasional dan lokal. Yayasan memberikan wawasan dan program tentang berbagai tantangan pembangunan.
