E. P. Sanders

Ed Parish Sanders (kelahiran 18 April 1937) adalah seorang sarjana Perjanjian Baru dan salah satu proponen utama dari "Perspektif Baru tentang Paulus". Ia merupakan seorang sarjana utama dalam kesarjanaan kontemporer tentang Yesus dalam sejarah, dan ia berkontribusi terhadap pandangan bahwa Yesus merupakan bagian dari gerakan pembaharuan pada Yudaisme.^[1] Ia telah menjadi Arts and Sciences Professor of Religion di Duke University, Carolina Utara, sejak 1990. Ia pensiun pada 2005.

Sanders merupakan Fellow of the British Academy. Pada 1966, ia meraih gelar Th.D. dari Union Seminary di NYC. Pada 1990, ia meraih gelar D. Litt. dari University of Oxford dan Th.D. dari University of Helsinki. Ia telah mengarang, bekerjasama mengarang atau menyunting 13 buku dan sejumlah artikel. Sanders lahir dan dibesarkan di Grand Prairie, Texas. Ia masuk Wesleyan College, Fort Worth (1955-1959) dan Perkins School of Theology di Southern Methodist University, Dallas (1959-1962). Ia menjalani setahun (1962-1963) belajar di Göttingen, University of Oxford dan di Yerusalem.

Antara September 1963 dan Mei 1966, Sanders belajar di Union Theological Seminary, New York untuk gelar Th.D-nya.
