Morella adalah negeri di Kecamatan Leihitu, Kabupaten Maluku Tengah, Provinsi Maluku, Indonesia.

Sejarah

Asal-usul terbentuknya Negeri Morella adalah melalui penggabungan beberapa negeri yang lebih kecil, yaitu Negeri Kapahaha, Iyal Uli, Putulesi, dan Ninggareta.

Adat budaya

Morella dengan negeri tetangga, Mamala memiliki budaya khas berupa baku pukul manyapu (ukuwala mahiate), tradisi perayaan Idulfitri yang tidak dijumpai di negeri-negeri lain di Kepulauan Maluku. Baileo Negeri Morella dikenal sebagai Baileu Tomasiwa yang biasa digunakan dalam acara adat, termasuk pelantikan Raja Morella.

Hubungan sosial

Negeri Morella pada masa lalu tergabung dalam Uli Sailesi, salah satu dari tujuh uli atau persekutuan adat di Kerajaan Tanah Hitu. Anggota uli yang lain meliputi Mamala, Liang dan Waai. Morella ber-pela dengan Kaibobo, Waai, dan Soya.[1] Ketiga negeri pela beragama Kristen dan mereka sering dilibatkan dalam perayaan pukul manyapu di Morella.

Pariwisata

Morella merupakan salah satu tujuan wisata favorit di Ambon, dengan destinasi ikoniknya, Pantai Lubang Buaya. Selain itu ada beberapa pantai lain seperti Tanjung Setan dan Pntai Halasi.
