Kotawaringin Lama adalah sebuah kecamatan di Kabupaten Kotawaringin Barat, Kalimantan Tengah, Indonesia.

Sejarah

Kotawaringin merupakan salah satu permukiman tua di Kabupaten Kotawaringin Barat, bahkan Kalimantan. Namanya sudah ada disebut-sebut di dalam Kakawin Nagarakretagama (sebagai "Kutaringin") maupun di dalam Hikayat Banjar yang bagian terakhirnya ditulis pada tahun 1663.[1] Setelah menjadi daerah bawahan Kesultanan Banjar, di kota ini berdiri istana tempat kedudukan pangeran ("ratu") vazal, sebelum kemudian dipindahkan ke Pangkalanbuun pada abad ke-19.

Kotawaringin Lama adalah nama sebuah Kecamatan yang terletak di bagian Barat Kabupaten Kotawaringin Barat. Secara geografis Kecamatan Kotawaringin Lama memiliki wilayah dengan ketinggian yang berkisar antara 7 sampai 100 meter di atas permukaan laut, dengan posisi kemiringan 0 sampai dengan 2 dan 15 sampai 40 persen..
