Berikut adalah daftar 100 aglomerasi urban terbesar di dunia menurut laporan Prospek Urbanisasi Dunia Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (revisi 2007).[1] Sebutan "aglomerasi urban" merujuk pada jumlah penduduk yang masuk dalam kontur teritori lanjutan berpenduduk pada tingkat kepadatan urban tanpa masuk ke lingkaran administratif atau arus komuter. Biasanya ikut memasukkan jumlah penduduk yang tinggal di satu kota besar atau kota kecil termasuk di wilayah pinggiran kota yang terletak di luar tetapi dekat dengan batas kota. Bila mungkin, data dikelompokkan menurut konsep aglomerasi urban yang digunakan. Tetapi, sejumlah negara tidak membuat data menurut konsep aglomeasi urban, tetapi menggunakan wilayah metropolitan atau batas kota. Jumlah di tabel berikut adalah perkiraan pertengahan tahun 2007. Basis data tidak menentu, sehingga daftar ini tidak dapat digantungkan sepenuhnya. Seharusnya dilihat sebagai satu jawaban terhadap pertanyaan "apa kota terbesar di dunia"?
