Abebe Bikila (7 Agustus 1932 – 25 Oktober 1973) adalah atlet olimpiade berkebangsaan Ethiopia yang menjuarai dua kali lari maraton olimpiade. Ia memenangi lari maraton olimpiade musim panas tahun 1960 di Roma, Italia ketika itu tanpa menggunakan alas kaki. Pada tahun 1964 pada olimpiade musim panas Tokyo, Abebe Bakila yang berprofesi sebagai tentara berpangkat kapten, ia atlet pertama yang berhasil mempertahankan gelar maraton olimpiade dan memecahkan rekor atas namanya sendiri. Ia seorang pioner lari jarak jauh.

Tegla Loroupe, Paul Tergat, dan Haile Gebrselassie — semua penerima Penghargaan the New York Road Runners' Abebe Bikila Award adalah beberapa atlet yang mengikuti jejaknya untuk membangun Afrika Timur sebagai kekuatan lari jarak jauh (maraton). Abebe berpartisipasi dalam total enam belas kejuaraan maraton, memenangkan dua belas dan menyelesaikan tempat kelima di Boston Marathon tahun 1963. Pada bulan Juli 1967, ia mengalami cedera kaki pertama yang berkaitan dengan olahraga yang membuatnya tidak dapat menyelesaikan dua maraton terakhirnya.

Pada 22 Maret 1969, Abebe lumpuh akibat kecelakaan mobil. Meskipun ia mendapatkan kembali beberapa mobilitas tubuh bagian atas, ia tidak pernah berjalan lagi. Abebe berkompetisi dalam panahan dan tenis meja di Stoke Mandeville Games 1970 di London, pendahulu Paralympic Games, saat menerima perawatan medis di Inggris. Dia berkompetisi di kedua olahraga pada kompetisi 1971 untuk penyandang cacat di Norwegia, dan memenangkan acara perlombaan lintas alam negaranya.

Abebe meninggal pada usia 41 pada 25 Oktober 1973, dari pendarahan otak yang terkait dengan kecelakaannya empat tahun sebelumnya. Dia menerima pemakaman kenegaraan, dan Kaisar Haile Selassie mengumumkan hari berkabung nasional. Banyak sekolah, tempat dan acara, termasuk Abebe Bikila Stadium di Addis Ababa, dinamai menurut namanya.
