漢成帝劉驁（前51年—前7年4月17日），字太孫，又字俊[1]。西漢第十二位皇帝，其正式諡號為「孝成皇帝」，後世省略「孝」字稱「漢成帝」，漢元帝長子，母孝元皇后王政君（王莽姑母）。汉成帝时王凤（舜的后人，汉成帝的舅舅）与许嘉（许平君的堂弟、孝成许皇后的父亲）并立为大司马车骑将军。后来许皇后失宠、赵飞燕及赵合德姐妹崛起，汉成帝没有男性后代，王凤一族逐渐控制了政权，王凤堂兄弟四人（王鳳、王音、王商、王根）和侄子王莽相继为大司马或至大将军。自從成帝崩後，傅昭儀、王莽相繼把持朝政，西漢大權完全落入外戚手中。

生平

由於是嫡皇孫，劉驁深得祖父漢宣帝喜愛，常常陪伴宣帝左右。元帝即位後，劉驁在初元二年（前47年）四月獲立為太子。青年時的劉驁愛讀經書，喜歡文辭，寬博謹慎。有一次元帝急招劉驁前來，他不敢橫越馳道（皇帝專用道路），繞了一圈才遲遲面見元帝。元帝知道了整件事情之後，非常的高興，也下令以後太子可以直接穿越馳道。這件事情可以看出劉驁謹慎的一面。後來沉溺声色之中，常假借其表兄弟兼同性情人富平侯张放的名义在长安郊外玩乐。

元帝曾想改立寵妃傅昭儀之子山陽王劉康（元帝第二子，哀帝劉欣之父）為太子，因為劉驁是宣帝愛孫以及侍中史丹出力幫助保住劉驁太子之位的緣故，元帝沒有付諸實施。[2]前33年元帝去世後，太子劉驁繼位，是為漢成帝。

汉成帝时汉成帝的舅舅、舜的后人王凤以及许平君的堂弟、孝成许皇后的父亲许嘉并立为大司马车骑将军。后来许皇后失宠赵飞燕和赵合德姐妹崛起，汉成帝没有男性后代，舜的后人王凤、王莽逐渐控制了政权，王氏兄弟四人和侄王莽相继为大司马大将军。綏和元年（前8年），王莽獲升為大司馬。

汉成帝自即位起就花费了大量金钱和人力，建造霄游宫、飞行殿和云雷宫供自己淫乐，每日沉溺于美少女之中，结果造成国家财政陷入困难，使得百姓怨声载道，民不聊生。

漢成帝的另一個比較有名的故事是他寵愛趙飛燕，並為此將他原來的皇后廢黜，立趙飛燕為皇后，後來又納趙飛燕之妹赵氏（《飞燕外传》所称趙合德）為昭儀。

成帝在位二十六年，綏和二年三月，楚思王、梁王立來朝，劉驁在長安未央宮白虎殿設宴招待並在此留宿。三月丙戌（公元前7年4月17日），劉驁早晨起來正打算穿褲襪，突然褲襪掉落，劉驁也無法說話，很快就死去，死時四十五歲。《漢書》說“帝素強無疾病”。由於成帝死訊來得突然，且去世前一晚尚無任何發病征兆，“群眾讙譁”，眾人歸咎趙昭儀。皇太后命王莽領導一眾官員調查成帝日常生活及病發經過，趙昭儀最終自殺[3]。富平侯张放得知成帝死讯后，也“思慕哭泣而死”[4]。

劉驁葬於延陵（今陝西省咸陽市西北15里處），庙号統宗（后被汉光武帝取消），諡號為孝成皇帝。

绝后

漢成帝統治時期，大地主、大官僚兼併土地，導致郑躬起义等民變爆發，西漢衰落。汉成帝自己也没有男性后代。王凤、王莽得到权力。关于赵飞燕杀皇子的史源是汉书外戚传，出自掖庭令吾丘尊一人之口：“掖庭中御幸生子者辄死，又饮药伤堕者无数。”而吾丘遵后病困，说：“今吾已死，前所语事，……慎语。[5]”并无其他赵飞燕杀皇子的可靠记载。

  • 曹宫，字伟能，汉成帝皇后赵飞燕的秘书，女同性恋，身份神秘。曹宫生下了一个儿子，父亲不明。曹宫与她的儿子均被汉成帝处死，成为当时西汉特大案件，直接影响了西汉晚期历史走向。关于曹宫的儿子到底是否是汉成帝的孩子，是一个问题。详见曹宫条目。赵合德和汉成帝均对曹宫孩子的父亲身份有怀疑，如赵合德认为：“曹宫无过，宁自杀，若外家也。”即曹宫与汉成帝人类性行为没有罪过，曹宫却自杀，很可疑。汉成帝自己的态度是：“毋问儿男女，谁儿也。”即汉成帝自己也不知道曹宫腹中婴儿的父亲是谁，自始至终只有曹宫本人说腹中婴儿的父亲是汉成帝。
