菊花賞（日语：菊花賞），別稱日本聖烈治錦標（取自英國聖烈治錦標），是日本中央競馬會（JRA）在京都競馬場舉辦供3歲雄馬及雌馬競逐的國際一級賽（GI），途程為草地3000米，通常於十月舉行，是日本三歲經典三冠大賽的尾關。

賽事名稱中的「菊花」是菊科菊属多年生草本植物，在日本的花語是「高貴」和「高尚」[1]。

概述

前「八大競走」之一，是日本三歲經典三冠大賽的尾關，是決出最有耐力和最優秀的種馬的賽事。因此，參賽資格僅限於4歲（現在3歲）雄馬及雌馬，閹馬不能參賽。

1938年，以英國的聖烈治錦標為靈感，創辦為4歲（現在3歲）雄馬及雌馬設立的限定賽事“京都農林省賞典四歳呼馬”，與當時成立的“橫濱農林賞典4歲馬”和“東京優駿”（日本打吡）組成了“三冠大賽”。1948年後賽事名稱改為“菊花賞”。

皐月賞是由“最快的馬”獲勝，東京優駿（日本打吡）是由“最幸運的馬”獲勝，而具備速度和耐力，克服兩次斜坡和3000米途程的菊花賞則是由“最強的馬”獲勝。

除了1979年、2021年和2022年在阪神競馬場舉行以外，每屆賽事均在京都競馬場舉行，而3000米的途程自首屆賽事以來都未曾改變。

1995年起被列為「指定交流競走」，符合指定條件的地方競馬所屬馬匹可以參賽。2001年起，外國產馬也可以參賽。從2010年開始，升格為國際一級賽（GI），更允許外國訓練馬參賽。

參賽資格：3歲純種雄馬及雌馬（最大出賽馬匹數量：18匹）

  • JRA所屬馬
  • 地方競馬所屬馬（僅限符合特定資格的馬匹）
  • 外國訓練馬（最多9匹，優先出賽）
  • 閹馬（已去勢的雄馬）不能參賽

負磅：分齡讓磅（57公斤，雌馬受讓2公斤）

歷史

  • 1938年 - 在京都競馬場的草地3000米創立的“京都農林省賞典4歳馬”。
  • 1943年 - 更名為“京都農商省賞典4歳馬”。
  • 1944年 - 作為「長距離特殊賽」的「能力測試競走」舉行，但由於所有馬匹都進入了錯誤的賽道導致賽事未能成立。
  • 1945年 - 由於太平洋戰爭的影響而取消。
  • 1946年 - 更名為“農林省賞典4歳馬”。
  • 1948年 - 更名為“菊花賞”。
  • 1984年 - 引入分級制後，被評為JRA GI。
  • 1995年 - 成為「指定交流競走」，開放予地方競馬的馬匹參加。
  • 2001年 - 由於國際馬齡顯示標準的變化，參賽條件改為「3歲雄馬及雌馬」；同年開始，最多允許2匹外國產馬參賽。
  • 2004年 - 以“日本中央競馬會50週年紀念”的副標題舉行。
  • 2010年 - 升格為國際一級賽（GI），最多允許9匹外國訓練馬及外國產馬參賽。
  • 2013年 - 最多允許9匹外國訓練馬參賽。
  • 2014年 - 以“JRA 60週年紀念”的副標題舉行。
  • 2021年 - 因應京都競馬場的翻新工程移師阪神競馬場舉行（2022年相同）。
