永济市是中华人民共和国山西省的一个县级市，由运城市代管。位于山西西南隅，同蒲铁路穿越市境。市人民政府驻城西街道。

历史

古称蒲坂，相传为舜帝之都。战国时属于魏国，称智邑。秦置蒲坂县，王莽时改蒲城。东汉復名蒲坂县。隋朝开皇十六年（596年）析蒲坂县置河东县，大业二年（606年）省蒲坂入河东县。至明朝洪武二年（1369年），省河东县入蒲州。清朝雍正六年（1728年）升为蒲州府，并设附郭永济县，以境内永济渠命名。

1556年嘉靖大地震，人类历史上死亡人数最多的一次地震

1556年1月23日，陕西省发生约8级的大地震，永济是重灾区之一，全国死亡人数占计高达83万（不包括没有登记户口的居民），是中国历史以至全球史上伤亡最为惨重的一次地震。

1912年废府存县，1958年与安邑县、解虞县、临猗县合并为运城县（现运城市）。1961年析运城县复置永济县。1994年1月撤县设市，目前隶属于地级运城市。市中心建有舜都广场，纪念舜帝建都于此的传说。

位于山西西南隅，南倚中条山，西临黄河，与陕西省隔河相望。

永济市下辖3个街道办事处、7个镇[3]：

城西街道、​城北街道、​城东街道、​虞乡镇、​卿头镇、​开张镇、​栲栳镇、​蒲州镇、​韩阳镇、​张营镇、​永济监狱、​山西省永济虞乡强制隔离戒毒所和山西省永济董村强制隔离戒毒所。

经济

永济的工业以轻工业为主，农业主产小麦、棉花、淡水鱼、芦笋、桃树、苹果、杏树、花椒、玉米等。

高技术行业方面，有中国中车集团旗下的永济电机公司，负责供应牵引电动机予全国铁路车辆。

物产

  • 矿产有磷、石英砂、石灰岩、白云石、铁、铅锌、金、铜、红玛瑙等。
  • 野生动物有野猪、野兔、野羊等。
  • 土特产主要有桑落酒、蒲柿、黄河大鲤鱼。

人口

2022年末，永济市常住人口381198人。 根据第七次人口普查结果，截至2020年11月1日零时，全市常住人口为394935人[4]，与2010年第六次全国人口普查44.4724万人。[5]
