平家落人是在源平合戰（治承壽永之亂）敗北，隱遁於僻地的敗殘者。主要是平家一門及其郎黨、幫助平家方者。或稱平家落武者，但是落人之中不僅限武士，也包含公卿、女性、兒童等，所以一般稱作平家落人。這類平家落人逃往特定地域的傳說，俗稱平家落人傳說。日本全國有132個村落自稱是落人的子孫，但是大多被認為欠缺信憑性[1]。

平家落人

平家落人是源氏和平家相爭的源平合戰，在一之谷之戰、屋島之戰、壇之浦之戰中連戰連敗後，為了躲避追捕而逃亡並潛伏各地的平家方難民。

平家落人之里

平家落人大抵上生存在深山、離島、孤島等交通不便之地。這些平家落人潛伏的地域稱作平家谷、平家塚、平家之隱里、平家落人之里等。
