Mô hình Bohr

Mô hình của Rutherford–Bohr về nguyên tử hydro hay một ion tương tự hydro, nơi điện tính âm electron được trộn lẫn trong vật chất mang điện tích dương. Nếu một điện tử bị xê dịch thì nó sẽ bị kéo về vị trí ban đầu. Điều này làm cho nguyên tử trung hòa về điện và ở trạng thái ổn định.

Trong vật lý nguyên tử, Mô hình nguyên tử của Bohr mô tả nguyên tử gồm một hạt nhân nhỏ, mang điện tích dương có các electron di chuyển xung quanh trên các quỹ đạo tròn - tương tự cấu trúc của hệ Mặt Trời nhưng lực hấp dẫn được thay bằng lực tĩnh điện. Đây là mô hình cải tiến của mô hình mứt mận (Plum pudding model, 1904) và mô hình Rutherford (1911). Nhiều tài liệu còn gọi mô hình Bohr là mô hình Rutherford-Bohr.

Mô hình này được đề xuất bởi Niels Bohr năm 1913. Mô hình này đã giải thích rất thành công công thức Rydberg về các vạch quang phổ của nguyên tử hydro.

Nguồn gốc

Đầu thế kỉ 20, những thí nghiệm của Ernest Rutherford đã cho thấy rằng nguyên tử gồm có một đám mây electron khuếch tán mang điện tích âm bao xung quanh một nhân nguyên tử dày đặc mang điện tích dương. Với dữ liệu của thí nghiệm này, Rutherford đã xây dựng nên mô hình hành tinh nguyên tử dựa theo mô hình các hành tinh quay chung quanh Mặt Trời vào năm 1911.

Năm 1913, Bo đã vận dụng thuyết lượng tử ánh sáng vào hệ thống nguyên tử và đề ra một mẫu nguyên tử mới mang tên mình. Mẫu này về cơ bản vẫn giữ mô hình hành tinh nguyên tử của Rutherford nhưng bổ sung thêm 2 tiên đề sau:

- Tiên đề về các trạng thái dừng: Nguyên tử chỉ tồn tại trong một số trạng thái có năng lượng xác định, gọi là các trạng thái dừng. Khi ở trạng thái dừng thì các nguyên từ không bức xạ. Trong các trạng thái dừng của nguyên tử, electron chỉ chuyển động quanh hạt nhân trên các quỹ đạo dừng có bán kính hoàn toàn xác định với

- Tiên đề về hấp thụ và bức xạ năng lượng: Khi nguyên tử chuyển từ trạng thái dừng có năng lượng cao sang trạng thái dừng có năng lượng thấp hơn thì nó sẽ phát ra một photon có năng lượng bằng hiệu năng lượng của hai trạng thái dừng và ngược lại, nếu nguyên tử đang ở trạng thái dừng có năng lượng thấp muốn lên trạng thái dừng có năng lượng cao hơn phải hấp thụ một photon có năng lượng đúng bằng hiệu năng lượng của hai trạng thái dừng.

Phát biểu quan trọng

Bohr phát biểu: "Các electron chuyển động quanh hạt nhân theo những quỹ đạo tròn, nhưng chỉ trên những quỹ đạo được phép."

Có thể hiểu: "Các electron trong một nguyên tử không những không thể mất năng lượng một cách liên tục mà còn phải thực hiện các bước nhảy lượng tử.

Trạng thái kích thích & Trạng thái cơ bản trong mô hình Bohr

  • Trong mô hình Bohr các nguyên tử Hydro, mức năng lượng thấp nhất của electron tương ứng với những quỹ đạo n=1, được gọi là trạng thái cơ bản.
  • Khi nguyên tử nhận năng lượng, electron nhảy lên quỹ đạo có năng lượng cao hơn, được gọi là trạng thái kích thích.
  • Nguyên tử kém bền khi ở trạng thái kích thích nên nó sẽ giải phóng năng lượng và quay về trạng thái cơ bản (có thể thông qua nhiều bước nhảy)
