    Đạn 9×19mm Parabellum là loại đạn do Georg Luger thiết kế và được hãng chế tạo vũ khí của Đức Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) giới thiệu vào năm 1902. Nó còn được gọi là đạn 9mm Luger hoặc đạn 9×19mm để phân biệt với hai loại đạn 9mm nổi tiếng khác là 9×18mm Makarov và 9×17mm Browning. Parabellum là viết tắt của câu ngạn ngữ Latinh Si vis pacem, para bellum (nghĩa là Nếu muốn có hòa bình, hãy chuẩn bị chiến tranh) mà DWM lấy làm khẩu hiệu và địa chỉ điện tín của mình. Hộp đạn 9mm tương đối nhỏ và gọn nên dễ mang theo, đồng thời thường có độ giật thấp và độ chính xác tốt."[6]"

    Cuốn Cartridges of the World nhận xét rằng 9x19mm Parabellum là "loại đạn súng ngắn quân dụng được sử dụng rộng rãi và phổ biến nhất thế giới"."[7]
