Toʻqay – 1) qamish bosib yotgan botqoq yer; 2) daryo boʻyidagi qalin changalzor oʻrmon. Suv serob, mikroiklimi atrofdan namroq va yumshoqroq boʻlganidan oʻsimlik hamda hayvonot dunyosi oʻziga xos boʻladi. Tuprogʻi allyuvial, gidromorf tuproq. Toʻqayda daraxtlar bn birga butalar, oʻtlar ham qalin oʻsadi. Oʻrta Osiyo toʻqaylarida terak, zarang, tol, yulgʻun, jiyda, jingʻil, turangʻil, qamish koʻp oʻsadi.
