Ametist (safsar) — mineral, kvarsning shaffof binafsha rang turi. Ametistning yirik, chiroyli rangli kristallari qimmatbaho tosh. Sintetik Ametist ishlab chiqarish yoʻlga qoʻyilgan. Ametist granit pegmatitlarida, kvars yertomirlarida va baʼzan metamorfik togʻ jinslari ichida ham hosil boʻladi. Ametist konlari Brazi-liya, Shrilanka o., Myanma (Birma), Ural togʻlari, Ukraina va boshqa joylarda bor.
