Feroz Ahmad

Feroz Ahmad (d. 1938, Delhi), Hint kökenli Amerikalı ve Türk tarihçi.

Lisans eğitimini 1958'de Delhi Üniversitesi Tarih Bölümünde aldı. Ardından Londra Üniversitesi'ne gitti. Burada Bernard Lewis'in yanında Türk politikasında İttihat ve Terakki Partisi 1908-1913 isimli doktora tezi hazırladı. Tez kapsamında 1962-1964 yılları arasında Türkiye'de çalışmalar yaptı.

Columbia Üniversitesi'nde öğretim üyeliği yaptı. Daha sonra Massachusetts Üniversitesi'nden yardımcı doçent unvanı aldı. Aynı üniversitede 1970 yılında doçent, 1978 yılında profesör oldu. 1980-1981 yıllarında Harvard Üniversitesi Ortadoğu Araştırmaları Merkezi'nde dersler verdi. İngiltere ve Türkiye'de araştırmalar yaptı.

1997-1998 yıllarında Türkiye'de Fulbright öğretim üyesi olarak görev yaptı. Massachusetts Üniversitesi'nden emekli olarak Türkiye'ye geldi. Türk vatandaşlığı aldı ve Yeditepe Üniversitesi'nde ders vermeye başladı.

19 Ağustos 2014 tarihinde Cumhurbaşkanı Abdullah Gül tarafından, Türk tarihine yaptığı katkılar sebebiyle kendisine Liyakat Nişanı tevcih edildi.[1]
