Müzik Yaşamı

Anne-Marie David, müzik hayatına 1972'de Jesus Christ Superstar oyununda Mary Magdelena rolü ile başlamıştır. 1972'nin haziran ayında Olympia'da oyunu sunarlar. Lüksemburg tarafından gelen Eurovision teklifini kabul eder.

1973 Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması

David, ülkeyi Tu te reconnaîtras adlı şarkıyla temsil etti.[1] İspanyol ve İngiliz şarkılarıyla geçen kıyasıya mücadele sonunda ikinci İspanya'nın 4 puan önünde birinciliği kazandı. Şarkının İtalyanca, İngilizce, Almanca, Türkçe gibi birçok dilde versiyonunu söyleyen David, Avrupa'da önemli bir yer kazandı.

Türkiye yılları

Sanatçı bir Avrupa turnesinden sonra 1974 yılında Türkiye'ye geldi. Burada "Neşeli Gençleriz Biz / İnanma" ve "Hayat ve Ben / Sil Baştan" 45'liklerini yayınladı. Özellikle Çiğdem Talu'nun sözlerini yazdığı ve David'in farklı Türkçesi ile seslendirdiği Neşeli Gençleriz Biz ilgi topladı. Sanatçı Müjdat Gezen'in oynadığı Pembe Panter adlı filmde "Hayat ve Ben" şarkısıyla yer aldı ve filmde göründü. Bir adet de Türkçe albüm çıkardı. 1974 ve 1975 tarihlerinde Fahri Korutürk tarafından ödüllendirildi.

1979 Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması

1979'da sanatçı Eurovision'a bu sefer ülkesi Fransa'yı temsil etmek için katıldı. Şarkısı Je suis l'enfant soleil idi.[2] Ancak bu sefer birinci olan İsrail'in 19 puan arkasında üçüncü oldu. 1980'de ise Fransa'da Versay Kongre Sarayında bir konser verdi.[kaynak belirtilmeli]

Eurovision sonrası

1982 yılında Oslo'da kraliyet ailesi önünde şarkı söyledi ve 1983'te Oslo'da en iyi yabancı sanatçı ödülü aldı. 1984'te bir müzikal sonrası kariyerini bitirmeye karar verdi ve Fransa'da yaşamına devam etti. 1985'te Norveç Eurovision elemelerinde jürilik yaptı ve seçilen sanatçı Eurovision'u o sene kazandı.

Müziğe dönüş

2004'te konserlerine yeniden başlayan Marie, piyanistiyle beraber söylediği şarkıları bir albümde topladı. Belçika'da kaydedilen bir konserden sonra David yeniden Avrupa'yı turlamaya başladı. 2006'da Anna Maria adıyla İspanya'ya yönelik Federico adlı bir single çıkardı.
