Aliabad, Zakatala

Aliabad (Azerice: Əliabad), Azerbaycan Cumhuriyeti'nin Zakatala rayonunda, tarihi Hereti topraklarında, Gürcistan sınırına yakın bir köydür. İlçe merkezine 18 km uzaklıktadır. 2008 nüfus sayımına göre köyde 9.200 kişi yaşıyor.[1] Köyde ağırlıklı olarak etnik İngiloylar yaşamaktadır.[2]

Tarih

Aliabad'ın tarihi adı Eliseni (ელისენი)'dir.[3] 20. yüzyılın başında Aliabad'ın nüfusu 4351 kişiydi ve orada Müslüman İngiloylar yaşıyordu. Köyde bir cami mevcuttu. 1918-1921'de Aliabad, Zakatala Okruğu'nun bir parçasıydı ve Gürcistan Demokratik Cumhuriyetleri ile Azerbaycan arasında tartışmalıydı. 1921'de Sovyet işgalinden sonra Saingilo'nun geri kalanıyla birlikte Azerbaycan SSC'ye devredildi.[4]
