Alain David Jourgensen (d. 9 Ekim 1958, Havana, Küba; çoğunlukla Al Jourgensen olarak bilinir), Küba asıllı Amerikalı bir müzisyendir. Ünlü endüstriyel metal grubu Ministry'nin kurucusu ve solisti olan Jourgensen, kimi zaman albüm kayıtlarında Alain Jourgensen, Alien Jourgensen, Hypo Luxa (albüm yapımcısı olarak takma adı), Dog, Alien Dog Star ve Buck Satan olarak gösterilmektedir. Aynı zamanda birkaç endüstriyel rock grubunun kurucusu olan Jourgensen, bu gruplarda vokalist, gitarist ya da klavyeci olarak görev almaktadır.

Biyografi

Jourgensen, Havana'da Kübalı bir annenin ve Norveçli bir babanın çocuğu olarak 1958'de doğdu. Kısa süre sonra, annesi ve soyadını Jourgensen'e çeviren Danimarkalı üvey babası ile ABD'ye yerleşti. Gençliği sırasında The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, Can, Kraftwerk, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Kitty Wells, Buck Owens, George Jones, Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus ve Miles Davis gibi müzik grupları ile müzisyenlerin hayranıydı.[1] Üvey babası bir stok otomobil yarışçısı ve ayrıca Formula One sürücüsü Dan Gurney'in tamircisiydi. Chicago, Illinois ve Breckenridge, Colorado'da yetişen Jourgensen,, Kuzey Carolina Üniversitesi ve Boulder'daki Colorado Üniversitesi'nde kısa bir süre öğrenim gördükten sonra, en sonunda Illinois - Chicago Üniversitesi'ne girdi. Special Affect adlı gruba üye olana kadar kolej dışında radyo DJ'i olarak çalıştı. Jourgensen Ministry'i 1981 yılında kurdu.

Jourgensen 1984 ile 2002 yılları arasında Patty Marsh ile evlendi. Bu evlilikten 13 Nisan 1985 doğumlu Adrienne adlı bir kızı bulunmaktadır.[2] 2002 Eylül'ünde ise Angelina Lukacin ile Graceland mansiyonunda evlendi.

Yazdığı şarkı sözleri hayatını farklı açılardan gün ışığına tutmaktadır. Alkolizm, kokain ve eroin bağımlılığı ile politik düşünceleri bunlara örnek verilebilir. Bu sözler ayrıca Beat Kuşağı'nda büyük oranda etkilenmiştir. (Jourgensen ayrıca kimi çalışmalarında William S. Burroughs ile işbirliği içinde bulunmuştur.)

Jourgensen'in hayat boyu süren uyuşturucu bağımlılığı, 1995'te Ministry'nin Teksas merkezine polis baskının yapılması ve Jourgensen'in uyuşturucu bulunmaktan göz altına alınması ile son bulmuştur. Bu durum beş yıllık şartlı tahliye ile son bulmuş olmakla birlikte Jourgensen bu beş yılı hayatının en karanlık dönemi olarak tanımlamaktadır. Zehirli bir örümcek yüzünden neredeyse kolunu kaybetme tehlikesi yaşadığından dolayı 2003 yılından beri hiçbir uyuşturucu madde kullanmamıştır.[3] Jourgensen şu anda El Paso,Teksas'ta yaşamakta ve kayıtlarını yapmaktadır.[4]
