Akpınar, Erzurum ilinin Karayazı ilçesine bağlı bir kırsal mahalledir.

Tarihçe

Mahallenin eski adı 1916 yılı kayıtlarında Kürtçede "akpınar" anlamına gelen Kanisipi olarak geçmektedir.[5] 1993 yılında Büyükşehir olan Erzurum’da, 2012 yılında 6360 Sayılı Yasa ile, tüm köylerin tüzel kişiliği kaldırılmıştır. Bu köy de Karayazı Belediyesi’nin bir mahallesi olmuştur.[6]

Coğrafya

Mahalle, Erzurum il merkezine 142 km, Karayazı ilçe merkezine 78 km uzaklıktadır.[7] Mahalle, Karayazı'nın güneydoğusunda olup, D.270 numaralı Karayazı-Tutak devlet yoluna 5,9 km.'lik bir köy yoluyla ulaşmaktadır.[8]
