Örsan Kunter Öymen (d. 20 Ağustos 1965; Berlin, Almanya); Türk felsefeci, akademisyen, köşe yazarı ve siyasetçidir.

Hayatı

Alman asıllı Gisela ve Örsan Öymen çiftinin çocuğu olarak,[1] 20 Ağustos 1965'te[2] Almanya'nın Berlin kentinde[3] doğdu. Dedesi, 7 ve 8. dönem CHP milletvekili Hıfzırrahman Raşit Öymen; amcası, 6. CHP Genel Başkanı ve 13. Turizm ve Tanıtma Bakanı Altan Öymen; akrabası, eski CHP Genel Başkan Yardımcısı Onur Öymen'dir.[4]

TED Ankara Koleji ve Bonn Amerikan Lisesinde öğrenim gördü.[3] Lisans derecesini 1987'de Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi Felsefe Bölümünden, yüksek lisans derecesini David Hume's Problem of Induction (çev. David Hume'un Tümevarım Problemi) başlıklı teziyle 1990'da New York Üniversitesinden, doktora derecesini ise Sextus Empiricus' Problem of Oriterion (çev. Sextus Empiricus'un Ölçüt Sorunu) başlıklı teziyle 1999'da Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesinden aldı.[2][3]

Hâlihazırda Işık Üniversitesinde öğretim üyeliğinde bulunmaktadır; İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Yeditepe Üniversitesi ve Bahçeşehir Üniversitesinde de ders vermiştir. “Assos’ta Felsefe”, “Halikarnas Akademisi”, “Adalar’da Felsefe ve Edebiyat”, “Zigana Zirvesi” ve "Galata Felsefe Okulu" başlıklı beş temel etkinliği bulunan Felsefe Sanat Bilim Derneğinin kurucusu ve The Hume Society'nin üyesidir. Milliyet, T24, Aydınlık ve OdaTV'de köşe yazarlığı yapmıştır, günümüzde ise Cumhuriyet gazetesinde yazmaktadır.[2]

Geçmiş senelerde CHP Parti Meclisinde yer alan Öymen, 38. Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi Olağan Kurultayı için genel başkan aday adaylığını ortaya koymuştur.[5] Fakat "medya ambargosu, adaylık imza tekeli, delegeye yönelik baskılar gibi uygulamalar nedeniyle", kurultayın "anti-demokratik bir ortamda gerçekleştiğini" belirtmiş; "partideki bozuk düzenin bir parçası veya uzantısı olanların ‘yarışına’ dönüştürüldüğünü" ifade etmiş ve adaylıktan çekildiğini duyurmuştur.[6]
