Ang Volterra (pagbigkas sa wikang Italyano: [volˈtɛrra]; Latin : Volaterrae) ay isang napapaderang bayan at komuna (munisipalidad) sa tuktok ng bundok sa Lalawigan ng Pisa sa rehiyon ng Toscana ng Italya. Ang kasaysayan nito ay nagsimula bago ang ika-8 siglo BK at mayroon itong malalakingeistruktura mula sa mga panahon ng Etrusko, Romano, at Medyebal.[4]

Ang Volterra, na kilala ng mga sinaunang Etrusko bilang Velathri o Vlathri[5] at sa mga Romano bilang Volaterrae,[6] ay isang bayan at komuna sa rehiyon ng Toscana ng Italya. Ang bayan ay isang Tansong Pula pinaninirahan ng kulturang Proto-Villanova,[7][8] at isang mahalagang sentrong Etrusko (Velàthre, Velathri, o Felathri sa Etrusko, Volaterrae sa wikang Latin), isa sa "labindalawang lungsod" ng Ligang Etrusko.[9][10]

Nang bumagsak ang Republika ng Florencia noong 1530, ang Volterra ay nasa ilalim ng kontrol ng pamilya Medici at kalaunan ay sinundan ang kasaysayan ng Dakilang Dukado ng Toscana.
